There is something almost forgotten about picking fruit straight from the tree. A hand looking for the perfectly ripe fruit, the smell of cherries warmed by the sun, plums at full ripeness or a pear barely hanging on the branch under its own weight: scents you cannot buy in any shop. And the quiet of an orchard that takes you back to childhood, to your grandmother’s yard, to a summer that smelled of jam and freshly picked fruit. That is exactly what the “Tadić – Domaći proizvodi” farm in Ramići near Banja Luka offers, and that is why its picking days fill up faster than they are announced.

Who is behind “Tadić – Domaći proizvodi” and where do the flavours come from?

The farm grew out of love for the land of Potkozarje and respect for what that land can give when it is treated with care. “The scents and flavours of tradition, from the best fruit of Potkozarje” is not a marketing line; it describes the daily work on a farm that puts its name behind its quality. Fruit that ripens naturally, without haste and without chemicals, and homemade products that carry the story of the region in every bite.

What sets this farm apart from an ordinary orchard is the homely spirit you feel from the first moment: a warm welcome, homemade products on the table, children running across the grass and adults who, for once, forget the rush of modern life.

Three fruits, three seasons, one philosophy

The orchard in Ramići follows the rhythm of nature and offers three picking seasons, run on the principles of integrated fruit production, each with its own character, aroma and charm.

Cherry picking opens the season at the end of May, when Potkozarje is in full bloom. Cherries do not wait: they must be picked at the right moment, while the sun is still in them. A red you can see from far away and that first bite straight from the tree is a taste most supermarkets cannot match.

Plum picking arrives in late summer and changes the whole character of the orchard. Dark blue fruit heavy with ripeness and scents that bring to mind rakija and jam cooked in grandmother’s pot: the plum is Potkozarje in a single fruit. Hardy, rich and honestly homemade, for everyone who knows that the best plum is the one picked from the branch, not bought at a stall.

Pear picking may be the most forgotten of the three, and for that reason the most surprising. A pear needs patience and the right moment, neither too early nor too late. When it is ready it is soft, fragrant and juicy in a way industrial fruit cannot imitate. Picked straight from the tree, into your hand, with no middleman: that is what a pear should be.

All three seasons follow the same rules and the same philosophy: a limited number of guests, a carefully planned experience and respect for an orchard that has given fruit for years.
